FLMS Friday Message 9.25.26

The FLMS girls soccer team got their second win yesterday at Westport with a score of 8-0. Emelia led the team with two goals. Annalyse, Londyn, Alivia, Bayleigh, Cali and Mia all had one. The boys lost by one in a hard fought game. The teams return to action next Tuesday vs. Seekonk at home.

Bruins day is September 29th, the home opener! Wear your favorite Bruins gear on Tuesday.

Elections are coming! All students have a right to vote for their best candidates! On October 2nd, cast your votes!

Chess club starts on Wednesday, September 30th! To sign up, have your parent or guardian send an email to cdelisle@freelake.org. Include your name and grade. See the website for meeting dates.

The FLMS school newspaper is starting up soon. Do you have some good ideas for the school newspaper? Are you a good writer, reporter or interviewer? Can you draw? Are you an expert with Canva? Our first meeting was today, but listen to morning announcements for more dates. Please make sure you have a ride ready to pick you up at 2:45 if you plan on staying. Registration is now open for After The Bell Flag Football and Ultimate Frisbee with Mr. DeLisle.  This program runs for four Fridays, starting next week.  

After the Bell Basketball challenges and games with Mr. DeLisle is also open for registration.  This program starts October 8th, and runs for four Thursdays during October.  Space is also limited, so grab an After the Bell Flyer from the front hall outside the main office, or stop by Mr. DeLisle's room in 216 to sign-up.

Dodgeball is back for another session.  Starting on Wednesday, October 7th join us after school for some dodgeball fun.  If you're interested, please grab a flyer from the main office.  Space is limited to the first 30 participants.

Attention all future Oompa Loompas, Candy Makers, and Golden Ticket Winners!

The FLMS Drama Club is excited to announce auditions for Willy Wonka Jr.! Auditions will be held Tuesday, October 6th beginning at 2:00 PM in the auditorium. If you would like to audition, make sure you sign up on the music windows and complete an audition form by Thursday, October 1st.

Not sure what to expect? Want some audition tips before the big day? Come to our Willy Wonka Jr. Information Meeting on Wednesday, September 30th from 2:00-3:00 PM. We'll answer questions, share audition tips, and help you feel ready to step inside the chocolate factory.

Interested in joining the Backstage Crew? You do not need to attend auditions or the audition meeting. Information about backstage crew opportunities will be shared in February, so keep an eye out for more details then!

Whether you're hoping to find a Golden Ticket, become an Oompa Loompa, or take on one of the many colorful characters in Willy Wonka's world, we'd love to see you audition! Don't miss your chance to join us for a world of Pure Imagination!

The FLRSD Strategic Planning Team (SPT) cordially invites you to complete the  26-27 FLRSD Strategic Planning Survey. Your responses will assist SPT members in designing the District's strategic plan. Your responses will shape the future of our District! The survey will take approximately 10 minutes and will remain open until October 7, 2026.

Each week we will look at grade level attendance for the week. Our goal is that each day 97% of our student population attends school daily. Please remember if your child is going to be absent for any reason please call the absent line to make us aware of the absence.

AES is still in the process of looking for recess monitors.  If you or someone you know would be interested in working two and one-half hours daily from 11:20-1:50, please ask them to apply on the District Website

The FLMS PTO is looking forward to another exciting year, supporting our students and staff!  We already had our first event of the year, hosting a Welcome Back Breakfast for our staff as they readied the school for the students’ return!

Get ready for our biggest fundraiser of the year with Adventure Zone Fundraising! We can’t wait for an unforgettable experience filled with fun, excitement, and school spirit.  This new fundraiser is sure to leave everyone feelin' “ducky”!  More to come!

8th Grade Parents - In the coming weeks we will soon be sending more information regarding the 8th Grade Dance and looking for volunteers to help with the coordination and planning. This is a keystone event for our 8th graders!  Keep watch for more info or feel free to reach out to us at flmspto96@gmail.com.

BOARD UPDATE:

6th and 7th Grade Parents - We have a few open positions on our board and some that will be entering their last term this year.  Please reach out to the FLMS PTO at our email above if you have any interest in learning more about these opportunities and/or just getting more involved in the PTO. Open positions include a Co-Chair and a Co-Treasurer.

The Campus Programs Department is offering a Drama Kids International program and Tennis Intramurals for grades 6-8.

We continue to support students and families through the use of our Agenda Website, which can be found through the popular links button on our website.  We encourage students to take responsibility of daily and weekly assignments and to use this website to stay on track with their classwork.
